Tabbouleh

No Lebanese table is complete without this dish. This masterpiece of a salad is loved by Every single Lebanese. It is a national requirement to love this dish. Tabbouleh is delicious but it also decorates the table with its colors and fresh ingredients. Everything is finely diced and that adds so much  to the sauce of the salad. This sauce is so amazing that people tip their plates after finishing the salad to drink the sauce. Tabbouleh is a very well balanced dish that has a balance that cannot be transmitted via a recipe. This dish has to be tasted to adjust the ingredients until perfection is reached.

This recipe makes 4 portions.

Ingredients

  • 3 Medium Tomatoes
  • 2 bunches Parsley
  • 4 Green Onions
  • 3 Mint Leaves
  • Fine Bulgur (1 ounce)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Pomegranate Molasses
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Making the Tabbouleh

We started preparing by finely chopping the parsley, tomatoes, Green onion, and mint. We kept each one in a separate bowl until we are ready to mix.

Right before we want to serve the food, we washed the fine bulgur and added it to the mixing bowl. We then added the chopped vegetables, and all the rest of the ingredients and mixed well. This is where different ingredients yield different results. We tasted our tabbouleh and added more of whatever is needed (in our case its always more lemon).

Tabbouleh can be eaten with a lettuce leaf or with pita bread, or simply by itself. 🙂 Enjoy this Lebanese staple.
