Mini Burgers

I love burgers! I always love to try new burgers at each restaurant I visit. I decided to make my own burgers. I made everything from scratch including these fluffy, delicious, and golden brown buns. Since I was baking my own buns, I decided to fill my mini buns dough with mini burger patties. This way, I can enjoy a freshly baked burger directly from my oven. You can also bake the buns without the patties and enjoy them plain. Let’s cook together and have some fun! 🙂

This recipe makes 23 Mini Burgers.

Making the Mini Burgers

I started by whisking the yeast in the warm milk and keeping them aside for 10 mins. Meanwhile, I mixed the 2 1/4 cups flour, salt, and sugar in a stand mixer bowl. I then mixed in the milk and yeast mixture and added the egg and egg yolk while mixing..

I mixed the 2 tbsp flour and 6 tbsp water in a small saucepan on medium heat and kept stirring until the mixture thickened and had a paste consistency. I then added this paste in the stand mixer bowl on top of all the other ingredients and mixed them all together around 3 mins until well combined.

I then added the softened butter and mixed for 3 additional minutes to form a smooth dough. I shaped my dough as a ball and placed it in a bowl sprayed with some oil and covered it with a plastic wrap and let it rest for for 2 hours.

After the 2 hours rest, I divided my dough into small balls of around 25 g each and kept them covered for around 15 mins. This dough made me 23 equal small balls.

Meanwhile, I mixed my ground beef with the spices mentioned in the ingredients section. I spread it in a baking sheet and cut the patties using a cookie cutter of 1.5 inches and grilled them in a skillet until well cooked and kept them aside.

I then took each dough ball and rolled it with a rolling pin. I made sure the rest of the buns are covered so that they do not dry out. I placed some shredded cheddar cheese and a burger patty on top and then closed the dough around forming a perfect bun. I placed the mini burger buns on a baking sheet topped with parchment paper. Once all the buns are formed, I covered them and let them rest for 30 mins so that the buns touch each other.

After 30 mins, I brushed my buns with heavy cream and sprinkled some sesame seeds on top. I placed the baking sheet on the middle rack of an oven preheated at 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degrees Celsius for 15 mins until the top is golden brown.

While the buns were being baked, I prepared my sauce by mixing all the sauce ingredients together and prepared my coleslaw and fries to have the perfect condiments ready once the burgers are baked.

We really enjoyed these tender, moist, and very delicious cheese burgers and the sauce came to compliment these perfect bites. Trust me it’s really worth your try!

Enjoy! 🙂
