Beef Stroganoff

This is one of my favorite dishes, my mom used to make for us since our childhood. It’s a very easy and simple dish which can be made by anyone at anytime. We usually make it with white rice but today I will make it with some Tagliatelle pasta and enjoy it with crushed chips on top. Let’s cook together and have some fun! 🙂

This recipe makes 4 servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg or 2 lbs Top Sirloin beef
  • 1 Onion (chopped)
  • 4 Garlic cloves (crushed)
  • 1 cup Fresh mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 tsp Red Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 1/2 cup Vegetable Broth (can be substituted by Beef Broth or Water)
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Chips for Garnishing

Making the Beef Stroganoff

I started by cutting the beef I have into thin long strips. Next, I put the onions in a pan and sauteed them on medium heat until they became translucent. I then added the crushed garlic and continued cooking for 2 more minutes. I then added the beef strips on top and cooked them until they are well done. I mixed in the sliced mushrooms and added the vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Ketchup, Mustard, Nutmeg, Salt, and Black Pepper. I covered them with the Vegetable Broth and kept them until they simmered. Once they simmered, I mixed in the flour and heavy cream and kept boiling for 7 more minutes. I served them with Tagliatelle pasta on the side (which can be substituted by rice), and topped them with some crushed salty chips and finely chopped parsley.

We really enjoyed this full of flavor dish. Enjoy yours! 🙂
