Poulet a la Creme

This is one of the recipes I learned from my mother in Law. I love it so much that I keep making every time I crave chicken with a creamy sauce. I wanted to share it with all of you so that you can experience those delicious flavors and enjoy them as much as we do. It’s a quick and easy dish to make. Let’s cook together and have some fun! 🙂

This recipes makes 4 servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg or 2 lbs. Chicken Breasts (cut into strips or cubes)
  • 5 medium Onions (Juliennes)
  • 300ml Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 cup Sliced Mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger (grated)
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Cornstarch
  • White Pepper
  • Black Pepper
  • Salt

Making the Poulet a la Creme

I started by sautéing the onions on medium heat until they became translucent. I added 2 cups of water to stop them from cooking and covered them. Once they simmered, I added the ginger and removed the pan from the heat. I immediately blended them using the hand blender in the same pan to get the creamy mixture. I placed the pan back on medium heat and mixed in the heavy cream and the spices. I mixed my cornstarch with a bit of water and added it to the pot to thicken the sauce. 

In a different skillet, I cooked my chicken after seasoning it with some salt and white pepper. Once cooked, I also added the mushrooms so I cook them with my chicken. I then added them into my creamy sauce.

I made some white rice on the side and we really enjoyed this delicious yet simple dish! 🙂
